Overview
Somehow everyone knows that you reveal everything about yourself on the internet - where you are, what you are interested in, who you communicate with, when, where and how. The interactive documentary shows what the internet knows about us, what happens to our data and what this means for our view of the world. The 30-minute television version presents the highlights of the web documentary series about the multi-billion dollar business with our data. The international web project 'Do Not Track' shows the consequences of internet tracking (derived from the English 'to track'), which companies such as Google and Deutsche Telekom use to monitor when and where we click on which online content. Google alone earns an estimated 55.5 billion US dollars per year from this information.
