Accounts of a War Correspondent in the Amazon
Overview
This courageous documentary follows Brazilian investigative journalist Daniel Camargos as he retraces the last known steps of his colleague Dom Phillips, who was murdered because of his accurate coverage of Amazon deforestation and violations of indigenous community rights. Canargos’ journey through Amazonia, and the inspiration which he draws from the indigenous activists who he meets, prompts him to reflect on the dangers and importance of critical journalism in an era where politicians openly embrace misinformation.
